Welcome to Rotary Club of Hull

We are The Rotary Club of Hull. We meet every Wednesday evening, either via Zoom and also face to face. See events for details.

We are the Hull branch of Rotary International, part of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, and community leaders in over 200 countries, who come together to create positive, lasting change in our own communities and around the world. Our Club We belong to what is known as District 1040 and we are part of the Maritime group of Rotary Clubs. Our local work: We organise the Humber Bridge Half Marathon and Family Fun Run (Humber Half) recognised as one of the best organised races of its kind in the UK. Runners have raised more than £1m for good causes since 1998. We also sponsor an annual local Special Olympics swimming event, and work with numerous local charities and schools. We along with the other Rotary Clubs in the Maritime group take part annually in a Disability games event. We regularly support the Hull Foodbank and support where we can with U.K. disasters such as the recent floods. Our International work We support several disaster relief initiatives, including Aquabox, Shelterbox and School in a bag, providing clean water, emergency shelter and learning resources respectively wherever they are needed. For many years we have supported a school in Uganda and watched it grow with our help. Rotary International: Since 1980 Rotary International have been committed to eradicating Polio, which was then endemic in 125 countries. Inspired by this, the World Health Organization (WHO) passed a resolution in 1988 to eradicate polio. Rotary is recognized by the United Nations as the key private partner in the eradication effort, and Polio is now endemic in just 2 countries. The above is only a small sample of what Rotarians do, locally and internationally. If you would like to know more please ask!
