The EMMAUS team and I would like to thank you and the rotary club for you extremely generous donation of all of the coats, hats, gloves and toiletries! The bags for the people rough sleeping and who we have recently supported into accommodation, are now packed and ready to be delivered tomorrow. We could not have got these ready and filled without you. Here are some photos of Steve packing a bag we are giving out, which has one of the coats you have given.

The Humber Bridge Half Marathon

Members of the RC of Hull volunteered to assist with the event which was organised for the first time following the transfer of the event from the Club to LKR Events. John Curry was thrilled to be asked to start the race, Margaret worked in the registration area, Penny & John Morris manned the car park and Richard Poulson was the lead motorcycle Marshall. The event went well but with a much reduced number of runners, we were pleased to see that Bridget the mascot was still around. Quite like old times but didn’t like early start .

Jane & Robin Mason visited the Rotary Club of Zoetermeer in Holland for the celebration of its 65th year of existence and also joining together as one with the other two Rotary Clubs in Zoetermeer. The Rotary Club of Hull has an association with the Zoetermeer Club, which they look forward to building on in the future.

A new partnership between the Rotary Club of Hull, HFR Solutions and Help4Health

A new partnership between the Rotary Club of Hull, HFR Solutions and Help4Health has been launched at the installation of a defibrillator at the Mallett Lambert Football Club, Hull. The partnership will be working with Hull City Council and the Yorkshire Ambulance Trust to install defibrillators in areas of greatest been in the City of Hull.

The Rotary Club of Hull were very fortunate to be invited for a guided tour of Trinity House Hull. 9 of us attended and it was a very interesting and informative tour. We even saw the fabulous silver collection.

Rotary Club of Hull U.K. Disaster Fund

£500 of tins of sweets and Chocolates donated from the Rotary Club of Hull U.K. Disaster Fund for the workers and families made jobless by the huge plastic factory fire in Hessle. Rtn’s John and Margaret Curry collecting and delivering the tins from Asda to Maria the Landlady of the Norland Public House who with Harry’s Bar are responsible for the appeal and distribution of the donations. Just a little Christmas cheer from us to the families.

Centenary/Christmas meal

The Rotary Club of Hull Centenary/Christmas meal at Cottingham Parks Golf Club. A really nice occasion to celebrate our Centenary year ( rather late) and also Christmas, attended by the District Governor and his wife with our own members and representatives of other Maritime Clubs.We were also pleased to welcome some of our own Honorary and retired members.

Bundles of Joy

The Rotary Club of Hull have been supporting local charity ‘Bundles of Joy’.  Members of the club recently donated over 50 advent calendars & selection boxes for families in crisis.

Bundles of Joy

The Rotary Club of Hull raised funds earlier in the year from a Silent Auction enabling us to continue supporting some of our favourite local charities. Our new President Peter Davies was very pleased to present Claire Raper of ‘ Bundles of Joy’ with a cheque for £500 which will help towards their wonderful work.

Our friends at The Rotary Club of Hull kindly arranged a great evening of Fish and Chips and entertainment in support of SIA this week to celebrate #SCIAD19! It was attended by many from the rotary & members of the Hull – Kits/SPINE SCI support group. Thanks to all involved from Andy and SIA with special thanks to Robin and Jane Mason. The Hull support group is open to all SCI people and their families across the East Yorkshire/Humber area. Meeting every last Tuesday of the month at the Beverly Road Salvation army 14.15-16.00.
